The Elevator Pitch
This book treats education as a system as a whole, not purely a pedagogical abstraction. In short, this book utilizes cross-domain knowledge to improve education.
Education is discussed in an operational environment and covers topics such as:
- Legal, financial, and human constraints
- Stakeholder/client relationships
- Metrics of success
- Methodology from other disciplines to enhance existing education systems.
Rather than discussing educational theory in isolation, system design and engineering concepts, such as scaling, management, and communications, are applied to everyday classroom operations.
Warnings, case studies, and implementation guidance intentionally draw from multiple domains including engineering, design, management, communication, and finance to better inform decisions and trade-offs.
